We are really grateful to God for giving us another opportunity to share this beautiful love story. This wedding was so special in a million different ways, like something straight out of a fairytale. Love, emotion and many happy tears were shared. Also it was my 1st time shooting at the Fairmont, which has always been one of my dream photography locations. It lived up to its name and still ranks way up there on my Kenyan dream wedding destinations.
You would not believe how this love story came to be…it cracked me up 🙂
‘We met through Yvonne’s best friend Edtience. Wambaa just so happened to venture off to Washington D.C. one evening after work to see Mike, a good friend from undergrad, who was in town from Amsterdam for work. Wambaa, who is not big on going out on weekdays, was convinced by Mike to join his friends and him in D.C. Everyone met at the Park for happy hour and as the evening progressed, Edtience who had one too many drinks saw Wambaa and started a casual conversation with him. She immediately heard a British accent and wondered where this guy was from. She asked him and the moment he said Kenya she went crazy (if you ask Wambaa, he would say she completely lost it), as her best friend Yvonne is from Kenya too. Instantaneously, Edtience took on the role of matchmaker and started telling Wambaa about her best friend who is super hot and how he would love to date her. Being the guy that Wambaa is, he immediately asked to see pictures of Yvonne, as he knows from past experience that girls lie about their friends being hot…lol. Edtience pulls up facebook (thank god for fb), and she proved to him that Yvonne is even hotter than he expected (YES!!!). Wambaa gave Edtience his number and she texted the information to Yvonne. After two weeks, Edtience called Yvonne to see if she had reached out to Wambaa. Yvonne who was busy with school finals said no but she would after completing her exams. A few days later, Yvonne and Wambaa spoke over the phone and as soon as Yvonne heard Wambaa’s British accent she melted and fell in love with his voice. Soon after, they went on their first date and that’s where their love story began :)’

Just before the ceremony, Yvonne & Wambaa had their 1st look 🙂
