There is so much to say about this beautiful wedding…that I am lost for words. Tim’s brother in law sent us an email & said that he would like it if we shot his brother in law’s wedding. At this particular point in time both Tim & Sarah were not in the country. They were to come home a few weeks to the wedding and that is when we met them for the 1st time & we became instant buddies. Gathoni & I always pray that God will bring people our way who are a perfect fit for us, and truth be told, Tim & Sarah are a living testimony of this.
Their wedding was so beautiful and had so many many lovely moments of joy, laughter & love that we were spoilt on what to share from this beautiful wedding. We decided to keep our wedding posts strictly to 100 images just to enable our site to load faster 🙂 We sincerely hope you will enjoy this experience.
As always out of curiosity we asked how they both met as we got this wonderful story courtesy of Tim….
“Sarah and I first knew each other several years ago through our family links.
However I only met Sarah in 2002 when my nephew Anash (who became my best man) came to my office at Queensway and was convinced that he had met this lady at my sisters house the previous weekend and he thought that I might like her 🙂
Long story short we met for lunch and became best of friends. Sarah then left for Australia for studies a year later, just 3months after I joined Moi University. We stayed good friends until 2009 when we figured out that we could actually try this dating business.
I went to Sydney for my masters, one thing lead to another and we are now happily married with a 7month old baby Sophia. I could be more happier.”
Without further ado, we present to you Sarah & Tim’s beautiful love story

We started off at the apartment that Sarah was staying, I had been waiting a loooong time to get this shot 🙂 and finally the opportunity presented itself in a golden platter 🙂 I gobbled it up!!!
On the other side of town, Gathoni & Mercy who were shooting the guys found the groom of the day, labouring it off on his bed, effects of last night antics so to say 🙂
And before long Tim was up, time to get himself married, been waiting for this day for much too long
And this was the guys’ idea for the perfect ‘Wedding breakfast’ 🙂
And then they all attacked my dashingly gorgeous wife Gathoni :), I call it the ‘Attack of the Spectacled men’ 🙂
And they danced & danced they have to be the most fun groomsmen ever!!! They should start a groomsmen-for-hire, am sure there’s lots of market for that 🙂
Reminded me of that song….’Mwanaume ni Biceps’ (Biceps make the man)
Gathoni rocked those rings good, creativity at its very best. Tim chose to wear his ring that Sarah had given him 5 years ago, that it was really sentimental to him
One of the groomsmen Laibuta, helps Tim to suit up
Meanwhile at the girl’s Sarah was all dressed & looking absolutely gorge!!!
The excitement even trickled down to the little angels, happiness was coursing through their veins
I discovered these women sipping hot African tea in the living room…they were a mix of the women who had come to sing & also the traditional dancers, I just thought it was a pretty cool photo, I have no idea why 🙂
Final touches on the beautiful bride…Sarah’s earrings were the topping on the cake!
Sarah’s sister gets touched up by Peris the MUA
Their little girl Sophia is just too adorable…had me thinking of getting a little one of our own 🙂 Cc: Gathoni
She is literally the life of the party; should you ask me!
The entire family joined in for this portrait…big wonderful family
Mum & her lovely daughters
The little girl’s perspective
Hahahaha this was one very light moment, as you can tell from the girls’ reaction
And the little girls discovered the African drum, and they just couldn’t let go…poor drummer-guy 🙂
Before long we had the loud hooting that indicated the arrival of Tim’s side of the family full of pomp & colour
And this little guy was unfortunately caught up in all the melee!!!
Normally, in their culture the bride’s suitcase is handed over to the groom’s mum who then accepts it with a lot of song & dance, this was something I had never before witnessed
And when the best man, Anash presented a bouquet of flowers to Sarah courtesy of Tim, there was more high pitched ululations!!! this was definitely going to be a good day
How cool is this sun-roof view of the bride, and yes, it was really worth the wait!!!!
And off we left for The Stanley, surrounded all round by this towering concrete jungle!!
Checking in to our beautiful city, Nairobi
Loved the set up at the hotel court yard. The Stanley has one of the most loveliest court yards ever!!!!! And given the chance all weddings should be held here 🙂
We got a suite in the hotel where we could freshen up before the ceremony, I caught this beautiful image of Sarah as she looked down towards the court yard where they ceremony was to take place.
And off we left towards where the ceremony was to be held
When this little girl walked in, she went in & hugged all the groomsmen, aaawww this was pretty sweet
View from the top!
The guys cheer them on!!!!
Good times these were…vows are definitely my favourite time during the ceremony
Reminded me of primary school’s ‘hip, hip, hooray!’
Always love those little holy communion glasses
And then Rev. Tony Kiama knelt down to pray with Tim & Sarah which I found so amazing!
So many light moments we shared here
We then stepped out to Arboretum to take some afternoon portraits, it was really cold, but later on the lovely sun came out at Dusk
One of the most fun bridal teams ever!!
One crazy bunch they all were!!!
Can you spot the lovely sun peeking through the trees
We hurried back to the CBD and took a portrait at the place where they 1st met, Queensway house on Mama Ngina Street
We decided to stroll back to the hotel and on the way caused quite a bit of a stir
At some point in time, Tim had to give the street kids some cash since they kept on following us everywhere, and they were beyond themselves with gratitude after the good gesture
The reception at Stanley was done really well, they really outdid themselves on this one
There was a wide range of delicacies for our dessert
Our MC for the night Mbuvi, had the entire crowd on its feet dancing…he does know how to work up a crowd
Singer Ringtone shares a light moment with this sweet old lady
Absolutely loved this very sweet couple
And Sammy Majani of ghafla.co.ke was in the building too
This little girl presented a wonderful framed poem to Tim & Sarah & she received a warm hug in return
Mum-in-love & daughter moments
Those yummy chocolate muffins are the stuff!!!
Tim had to take a bit of convincing before he accepted the piece of cake
Portrait with the folks
Mbuvi who was our wonderful MC for the night, really hilarious fellow he is 🙂
Aaaaww lovely moment we captured between father & daughter
Garlands of bling found their ways to Tim & Sarah’s necks 🙂
After this we did a last look shoot within the hotel, we were really tired but Tim & Sarah managed to pull off these wonderful images
Caught my Gathoni within the frame 🙂 she had no idea what I was doing!!!
Finally we finished off the night at Sherehez where the evening party was going down!!
That 1st dance was sensual, Tim does know his moves quite well
After this we called it a wrap. It had been a wonderful day of shooting and we were really thankful to God to be part of this beautiful love story….here is their awesome wedding trailer as shot by Kennedy Kamande
