Some time back God accorded us the pleasure of shooting this wonderful wedding. Sarah & Bernard’s wedding was fun, fun, fun all the way. They wanted to have a big, bad party & partying they did. From start to end, this wedding was a cocktail of joy, music & dance. I know that weddings ought to be more like this, remembering the good & fun times with family & friends. Here’s how Gathoni & I documented this very special day. Make sure you check out the trailer at the end of this post by the talented team behind Erikam Films, they were truly able to capture the spirit of the day.

When I asked Sarah about her she met Bernard, here’s what she had to say….
‘We met 5 years ago at a 6:AM party in Naivasha through a common friend, Maina Kangethe. Initially, it came as a shock to me for Mutuma to ask me for my number, as it was one of those moments you least expect anyone to notice you. (No details, lets just say drama has nothing on the events of that night, am sure our friend Tony Karanja remembers……hahahaha). So, I gladly took his number and after around a week, I was just bored at home and decided to bug him & see what’s up :), little did I know that this was not his number. At that point he did not have his phone, word has it, that he accidentally washed it (more like showered with it…hahahahahahahahaha) lets just say we are two of a kind.
The message was passed on by a friend and I got a call in seconds…….the rest as you know is history, we have never looked back. I love him to tiny little wittle bits. He is a great husband and wonderful father to our daughter, I am lucky to have you babe, cheers to a lifetime.
We started off with a few detailed shots. As y’all know we love ourselves some good detailed images
Loved both of their shoe choices
Hugo Boss was in the building!!!! Bernard is a man of really fine taste
Bernard & the guys grab some breakfast before they head out to the ceremony
Peek-a-boo to our gorgeous bride of the day, Sarah
Fatuo the make up artist works magic on her human canvas
That make-up is on point! Isn’t it?
Sarah & her maid of honour, Ng’endo
Sarah gets dolled up
The finished look was super gorge…Fatuo does know her work really well
Selfies for days happening all over
All the lovely girls together
Time to bounce
That girl in the mirror!!!!!
Even the slight drizzle could not drown Sarah’s upbeat mood
When we got to Don Bosco, we took a few images of the set up & what we saw all around us
1st up down the aisle was Bernard together with his folks
Her smile lit up the auditorium
Sarah & her folks wait in the wings…it was picturesque
And as a smiling Sarah made her way down the aisle…
…Butterflies were having a field day around Bernard’s tummy 🙂
And this little fellow could not miss a photo-op
Their bouquets were a win, win!
Loads of good times we had all through the vows
Bound together as husband & wife for eternity
These two little sweet angels were the ring bearers
Smiles all the way
Congratulatory hugs from the best couple
Loved the tradition of the bride & groom holding the offertory boxes as the guests brought in their gifts
Bringing in the sheaves
And the goodies too
Timeless classic this shot was
The alter boy & his gang of bells 🙂
Waithaka & Ng’endo kneel in prayer
Worship & song
Lovely smiles these were, they deserved a spot on the Kiruthis blog 🙂
As Bernard & Sarah penned their signatures…
These lovely voices serenaded them
Left-handed human beings rock 🙂
And the certificate was tucked safely away
With their super-gorge baby daughter, Dianah
After this we left for Collingham Gardens for the portrait session
The little fella killed it on that mean mugging look
Happy, happy people
We had some little fun with the girls
Smile & pose ladies, smile & pose
As the girls were getting their pose on…
Party mode for the guys had just kicked in….
Let’s just say sweet & sugary was not what was going through their minds at this point in time 🙂
Ng’endo rocks her bump
These two tender tweet’ hearts ***Sniff!!
And they caught Bernard off guard :))
And on this father-son note, we left for the reception
Loved the set up, a lot of care had been taken to ensure it all looked heavenly
When we got there, the ladies were waiting for us with open arms & lungs 🙂
It was break-a-leg, well more like break a hand
Well, let’s get this party on the road!!!!!!
Turn down for what??
DJ Crossfade kept us all on our feet, this man knows his stuff
Someone just turned up the heat to ‘Party level’ 🙂
Party don’t stop!!! well, more like ‘couldn’t stop’
Guys as well as girls rocked it on the dance floor
Show us what you got girrrrllll!!!!
Well, well…I have no idea what was happening here 🙂
Yeeeeeesssssss…this is the energy that should be injected in every wedding…from now on, moving forward 🙂
All shades of colour were well represented too
Even Sarah’s folks were not to be left behind
Waithaka gets his groove on
Best dressed couple award goes to….oh I only wish I got their names 🙁
Hahahaha the awkwardness when the married couples were asked to kiss in public 🙂 Africans & PDA do not MIX 🙂
They all opted for the hug
Best dressed couple takes the most romantic award of day again
This romantic thing is no joke 🙂
While this lovely couple chose to do the jig with their two handsome boys
Afterwards it was time for DJ Andre and DJ Crossfade to take a break, lest their decks burn down due to too much awesome music
After all that dancing…the food disappeared in a matter of minutes 🙂 let’s just say there was negligible food waste on this particular date 🙂
The MC, Zachary Wandaru had us all in stitches…it is simply remarkable how many silly jokes his mind can hold 🙂
Had us all in stitches throughout the reception
Well, some of us chose to laugh in the inside 🙂
And when it was time for the ladies to get jiggy with it, they left nothing to chance
Loved her natural hair
I still get so many guests asking me at weddings whether I do same-day-printing….that is why I have a new found respect for my fellow brothers who are in this industry. They are hated & loved in the same length….well, as long as they earn a decent living, its all good
How cute are these kiddos!!!!!
Sarah & mum in law moments
Sarah & Bernard had organised a mini-cake for each table..On a side note, let’s say this was the most cake I have ever eaten….we INDULGED!!!!!
Getting spoilt by the folks
And when both grandmas met…it was celebration galore
Don’t get it twisted….this was not a hold up by a band of mean robbers 🙂 nope, it was just the congregation giving a blessing to Bernard & Sarah
Cake cutting time peoples!!!!!
Cake time is fav time for lots of us 🙂
Me trying to make the most out of our very loyal iPad-wielding wedding guests, who show up in every wedding like clock work 🙁
Pop went the champagne cork
This always has a hilarious ending ~~~~~> 10 out of 10 times 🙂
Told ya’ so 🙂
Go Sarah, go….go!!!!
Cake & happiness is synonymous
Best man toast, to a happy & prosperous life ahead
This is what we had to deal with all evening…well, lots & lots of this 🙂
Single ladies….can I hear you!!!!!!!!
I simply cannot unedrstand ladies’ fascination with flowers…#gettheflowerordietrying 🙂
There was lots of love for the next-in-line bride, guess that’s why catching that bouquet is so life threatening 🙂
Loved the meet & greet session. Sarah & Bernard have the most beautiful buddies ever
After this the party officially kicked off…and it was back to the dance floor
It had been a while since I saw these ol’ skul moves….work it girls!!!!
Happy, happy, happy
And then the guys joined in too
And after this it was time to go & call it a day.
