I knew Samu many years ago, I was a crazy fan of the ‘Gospel Fathers’ and the wonderful music they produced. Little did I know that many years later we would meet and this time, he was commissioning me to shoot their beautiful wedding. It was such an honour & a dream come true for me to shoot his wedding and indeed him & Irene are a couple made in heaven. I asked Samu how he came to meet his beautiful wife.
‘So we first met in high school, she was in Moi Girls, Nairobi & I was already done with school. We had gone there to perform as Gospel Fathers, the music group I was part of. This was when we had just started to sing and our 1st tracks had just been released & as we were on stage singing ‘Sina madeni’ I saw this beautiful young lady on the front row singing out every word of the song. I hoped she was in the CU committee, so that I could be able to find out who more of who she was. True to my wishes, she was among the CU leadership, so we met & talked, and I made all kind of jokes about her funny accent & that’s how we kicked it off.
After the event I gave her my Number, writing it on her bible 🙂 up to now she has that bible. After Irene cleared high school, we started dating officially. We dated for almost 3 years, and then I messed up, as us men usually do. Also, at this time, we had started traveling outside the Country for performances & it was really tough for us. Thank God, she later came to the US where we were touring and we reconnected and our love grew back, but not before she turned me down like 20 times lol. She finally said yes & then we dated for almost 6 years. I engaged her on Sep 24th out in Orlando Florida and we got married almost a year after.
All along I knew this was the woman God had kept for me to be my wife. So I kept on working on our friendship & everything slowly became better & pir love was back again🏿I have loved & known Irene for more than 9 years & she now is my beautiful wife. What can I say but that God is good for this awesome happy ending. Now let the kids roll in .’ — Samu
