Shooting for one of the most recognisable brands in the world (Coca Cola) was a true honour for this humble photographer :-). I am not really big on corporate assignments, I just don’t like them; but once in a while I take up the challenge. Coca Cola was having a kick-off marketing meeting for some of its representatives around Africa at the exquisite Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club.
It was a wonderful opportunity for I, Leon Makori & Ken (Daiverse Designs) who were shooting the conference to interact with the well versed employees from one of the brands I admire so much. I also learnt a great deal about Marketing and also learned some tips that I can use to revamp my small business and hopefully someday will build it into an international brand too (SMS2Jesus).
We shot from 7am straight through to just past midnight and were as tired as the word can get, all in all it was a wonderful & en lighting opportunity for me…here are some out takes from the day…
Lovely view just before breakfast was served at 8am
There was no mistaking who the conference was for…the branding was hard to miss 🙂
The morning sun was O so glorious pouring in from the East. And yes the tables were set ready for the guests to arrive.
Yes, one of the best invention to date! sliced brown bread
Windsor does one of the best breakfasts I have ever seen, with such a wide array of goodies
Some of them had not met in a while, good moments there were
Basking in the glory of the January Kenyan sun before the kick off of the meeting
The interior deco of the meeting room, was one of kind. Authentic, creative and 100% Kenyan
After we went out for some team building, 1st on the menu ‘burst-ur-buddies-balloon’ yep without yours getting busted
Grab-ur-buddies-index i.e. without yours getting grabbed in the process 🙂
The happiness was too much to conceal
There was some game-watching too going on
And some African cheer leading songs had quite some spirit and character
Yes and the pass-the-marble game was a favourite
It was not as easy as it looked
And the winner was….
Alas! lunch was served
Later on in the evening the participants were adorned in Maasai regalia and we even had a real life stuffed lion that was awesome to pose along with
We were previledged to have Eddie Grey (Stories by the Lake), one of the top Kenyan guitarist & his amazingly talented band provide the entertainment for the night
Dinner was awesome and the participants looked so lovely
We then had our friends from West Africa being initiated as Morans! legendary!
Oh and yes we also had 2 real-life stuffed cheetahs on display, awesome!
Finally to close the evening we had the most craziest awards ceremony that had some very interesting and creative categories 🙂
Frankly if I were to pick a company I would have loved to work in (If I were not so bananas about entrepreneurship) Coca Cola would definitely take that trophy home!
God bless & Thanks for taking the time!!!
