Married | At the Nairobi Serena

Well, well at long last I was privileged to shoot a wedding at the Nairobi Serena one of the greatest 5 star hotels in Nairobi. It was on a lovely Friday morning and also new to the day I was covering the wedding with another talented fellow, Leon Muli you can follow his blog here. So we met up in the morning at Kenya Cinema, picked up the video guys then split up, I headed to cover the groom grooming up 🙂 Well on this day many surprises were lined up for me, my new alkaline batteries were no good and my speed-light would not work. So I hitched a bike road to the nearby Uchumi MSA road and by the time I was back the groom was half dressed 🙁 Somebody once mentioned to me that during weddings, something definitely goes wrong and that is what makes a wedding unique in its own sense, this one got off to a misstep, but I hoped that it would brighten up as the day worn on…

Well, more and more people are opting for the garden wedding option, taking the fact that it offers lesser expense having the reception and service at the same location and also the fact that it saves on all the transport logistics…

I loved the microphone shot and the bokeh of the soft background, I was absolutely idle with the bridal team held up at the bride’s home so I got myself busy shooting 🙂

One of the bride’s maids looked glorious as she strutted into the venue and the moment was not to be missed 🙂

One of the most important moments not to be missed ever, and I also make a point of noting the well manicured nails of the bride (and groom sometimes :-))

Sign-age of what I love calling a ‘LIFE CERTIFICATE’ that till death shall this covenant be broken, pretty important piece of documentation

close-up of the bride on the microphone, loved the grungy-retro feel of the image

I totally loved the small and manageable number of the bridal team, definitely something Faith & I are looking forward for in our wedding, lesser expense and better to manage

Here is a series of images from the ball room reception:

And lastly a picture of the fun & loving couple ….

Alexis and Henry wish you all the best…and a life full of love and much happiness, and many sweet babies too 🙂

You can catch their tantalizing engagement images on Leon Muli’s blog
