I sat up today morning on our bed, thinking…dreaming hoping…in my mind rang one verse….and it rang louder than I had ever heard before…
‘In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven’ (Matt 5:16)
God has placed inside us a light, a gift of some sort, something that this world needs. I know that our life here on earth is not guaranteed, so we cannot afford to let our light grow dim. We have to share it with the world, we have to let the world see this beautiful light that our creator has placed deep within us. This light is our gift, our offering to humanity, our unique brilliance that God has placed inside us only & only you hold the door to the unlimited possibilities that this gift can serve.
That is why we do what we do, why we are so hungry to make a difference, to make our mark in this world. Gathoni & I want to serve, to live & to give till God calls us home. We want to share this light, & hopefully light up this darkening world. Our gift is our light, & we are to let it shine so that the world may see this & glorify our father in heaven. So, we are a couple on a mission, our mission is to share our light & our mission field is the world. From today henceforth we will not shy away from this light. We will let our little shine, let it shine, let it shine……
This quote below is brilliant, and summarises my thoughts in a single paragraph
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
