Well, its been a few weeks since I have been back from the Coast…we had a great, great time. I had 2 sessions, one at Kongowea to a group of wonderful young people then I finished off in Mombasa with a group of over 2- photographers from the Coast. That was super fun, take a look at what we were up to:
Kongowea:
I had never been to Kongowea before so it was quite an experience. My hosts from the trip we Nikole & Kelvin…I had covered their amazing wedding sometime last year at Pa Pweza you can check out that blog post here.
Kelvin and Nikole work with youth in Kongowea. ย They have a small organization but are kind of like ‘parents’ or ‘big brothers’ to around 50 young people. They do a variety of things with them inc luding a soccer team, meetings, life skill trainings, scholarship programs, and basic first aid. We had an amazing session, here are some of the images we took after the class
Doing some Depth of field trials with some of the students (Me in checked shirt)

Mombasa Town:
The next day of my trip to Mombasa I had theย privilegeย of meeting & training about 20 of Mombasa pro-photographers. It was an amazing session & we shared a lot from our personal lives to photography to also looking at starting a group for all Mombasa photographers. It was great & really looking forward to my second trip there. Courtesy of my host Moses Modan, I had an array of the best swahili dishes Mombasa had to offer & even had a glass of sugar-cane juice. Awesome, awesome look at what we were up to…
