Absolutely loved their rings…this was a lot of bling for one wedding…especially Grace’s engagement ring
Loved the badges they got for their mum’s definitely this is something every bride ought to think of doing…a mother’s treasure
My beautiful Gathoni showcasing her ever lovely nails. Am still talking her into hand modelling, wish me luck 🙂
The lovely hands of my Gathoni & her sister Mercy were at hand to help me out 🙂
We decided to hang Grace’s gown outdoors. We found some kids out & about their activities, as if they were used to seeing gowns hang about their neighbourhood 🙂
Custom made hangers butter my bread any day!!!! Someone should think about making these locally, am sure they will make a killing!!! #EmpowerTheYouth
Our lovely bride of the day, Grace
On the other side, Gathoni was getting a little bit creative outdoor…as you have noticed we love outdoors…the greens always gets us good
Godfrey is helped to suit up by one of the guys
It was slightly overcast, and set the stage for the perfect Chinese wedding!
At the mean time, things were warming up at Grace’s abode
Grace & Godfrey wanted a Chinese themed wedding, everywhere you looked there was lots & lots of crimson
Red is the colour of love. This day promised to be a day full of love, and this love shone bright throughout the day
Grace had breakfast as her mother shared a few words of advice for the life that lay ahead of her, the one she was standing at the brink of
Never too young for some nail polish
And the little ones just ape what they see the older ladies do
Grace’s nephew rests like a little angel…so peaceful indeed
And then Kayte started to work her magic on Grace, she is the real deal when it comes to make up
Just before we were done, Grace’s sister who was also her maid of honour, wrote to her a beautiful text which Grace read out. She was deaf and this was one mode she used to communicate.
She explains using sign language
The message was really sweet, most of us were choking with tears at this point in time…well, we had to man up & continue shooting 🙂
Finally Grace got into her gown & she looked amazing!
Loved her long cathedral veil…she looked breath-taking!!! This was her day!
Just before she left home, money changed hands for the women to release her peacefully to Godfrey’s side
And finally after some negotiation, the beautiful bride was revealed!
And it was song & jubilation. I always love this part of Kenyan weddings, where the bride is handed over to the grooms family. Definitely one of the most emotional moments of a wedding!
Grace is escorted to the waiting SUV walking on a carpet of African lessos
This cute little kid insisted on coming to say goodbye to the beautiful bride, such a precious moment this was
The ceremony set up was simple & beautiful. And yes it was so very cold! one of the coldest wedding ceremonies I have ever attended. Though it was also one of the most beautiful & emotional ones too
1st up down the aisle was Godfrey, hand in hand with both of his folks
And then the bridal team danced down the aisle
And I just couldn’t resist capturing Gathoni with that big bad lens…I love shooting her as she shoots 🙂
And then finally, we all stood as Grace was walked down the aisle…oh it was such a beautiful moment, if only we could freeze time
Gathoni caught this beautiful image as Godfrey beheld his beautiful wife walking down the aisle to be forever united with him before God & his family
Looks like a little piece of heaven
Apostle Ababu conducted the ceremony so beautifully. Since he knew Grace personally & had been part of her journey, the ceremony was so personal & close, & many, many times we all fought back tears as we witnessed these two lives become one
Caught these two little fellas lost in their own conversation as everyone focussed on what was going on up ahead
Mmmmmhhhh loved this image much!!!
Godfrey gets to unveil his bride….just to confirm she is the one, that Leah/Rachel story gives everyone the creeps 🙂
Mr. Preacher man, that’s no Leah!!! That’s my Grace 🙂
The vow exchange was so beautiful!!!! ***Sniff!!!
The best man presents the rings to be dedicated to God
And with this ring, I thee wed
Aaaaawwww so very beautiful
Don’t look at me like that…I have a sweet spot for big cameras 🙂
That was one passionate kiss!!!!!
And when they knelt to be dedicated to God, the tears began to freely flow!!!!
Memories are made of such moments as these, such will be inscribed in our hearts forever
And the certificate was tucked safe & sound in Godfrey’s sock 🙂
It was hard to keep a straight face, try as you may!
I just loved this, I thought this was really beautiful
And during the sermon I just decided to walk about & take random pics of anything I saw happening up & about us
My lens has a high affinity for cute kids….it always seems to find them
Cheeky lil’ fella this one is!
No idea what was happening here…practising for later on, maybe 🙂
I loved the way they prayed together, their heads touched…Grace & Godfrey may this be your portion for the rest of your lives!!!…always touch heads when you pray…even when you old, grey & bald 🙂
Double hug from both moms, this is a real sweet photo….wonder why we never did this at our wedding 🙁
And they did a dance too…its cool to have such cool folks!
Happy peoples 🙂
Grace’s earrings getting jiggy with it!!!
And that sweet mother-in-law daughter moment!!!!!!
Mmmmhhhh, Mmmmhhhhh ….this cocktail be the best I ever did taste!
After the ceremony we headed to Jacaranda Hotel to take some portraits
Loved the Orient red, well just noticed the best man had a different shade 🙂
The guys with the mean mugging look!
Grace looks like a queen surrounded by her loyal subjects 🙂
This is the diva side of me, I keep well hidden 🙂
And that’s what I was trying to direct 🙂
The guys trying not to look awkward with those bouquets
Loved this image much, G&G, Godfrey & Grace!!
We just let them alone & shot from a distance
And then we went back to KARI for the reception, and the party was jumping!!!! So much joy & jubilation
Africans do know how to throw a good party
Dance like David danced
There should be a ‘No iPads’ sign on every wedding!
And they got down literally 🙂
And they held it down 🙂
How come men don’t like to dance? Or did the ladies get all the best moves?
And this game was called what again??
I love this, should be a poster for ‘Us against the World’ 🙂
Say what again????
Yep, and the dancing was just getting started, oh my didn’t people dance!
Lets show them how we do it this side of the sun!!!
This must be that ‘Whip the Devil’ move 🙂
And it was Godfrey’s turn to express himself musically on the earthy floor 🙂
And it was time for the much needed breather
Breather my foot!!!! The party don’t stop!!!!
Well, unless your legs fail you 🙂
Looks like she’s just about to rap on some hip hop beat 🙂 This was one energetic grandma!!!!
Oh my, Kenyans do take the grammy when it comes to wedding dance!!!! we run this town!
And in the midst of all the craziness we had to take the selfie of the day!!!!! Work with no play makes the Kiruthis a dull couple 🙂
Its advisable to also check out what your competitors are doing too 🙂 just to stay ahead of the game 🙂
In my walkings about, I spotted the caterers clearing up :), I just thought it makes a cool photo 🙂
Powerful moment we got here…and they got such wonderful advice
Loved their cake, it was simple & beautiful in so many ways
Chinese themed cake, pretty cool!!!
1st meal together as husband & wife
I got a good champagne spray from this one!!!!
As you can see Balotelli has followers that he does not know about 🙂
And the bouquet toss was something like the female version of Air Jordan 🙂
Hahahaha…that was one mean fight!
And the undisputed winner is…
Lovely couple these two are!
This is what the served for the evening party…maeeeen didn’t we eat!!!
And then when they came in, they started off with a mock dance
Then we had some dinner
And then it was time for the garter removal….and the fun started
The guys 1st had to do a dance to impress Grace, or it was more like accompany Godfrey & give him some courage
And when Godfrey got the courage it was all systems go!!!!
The ladies cheered him on!!
And Godfrey went for it!!!!
Godfrey is officially the man!!!!
And they danced a bit more…
And the guys danced anticipating the garter!
And just like that he caught it!!!
And there you have it….those responsible for catching the bouquet & garter, were united as one 🙂
And then they had their official 1st dance
We also did a last look shoot at Jacaranda hotel to summarise the beautiful day that had been
Some of my favourites of the night
Reminds me of an Egyptian princess
Jacaranda is so picturesque….we just took advantage of the beautiful architecture & ambience
And even though it was really raining, we made good use of the hotel
Next we hit the gym. Godfrey works out a lot thus he really helped us with some of the equipment….loved these images much
If working out was this fun, we would spend our lives out in the gym 🙂
Finally we shot these last images just outside/in their hotel suite
And with this, we called it a night, we were all super-tired but so grateful. This was one story we had loads of fun telling.
Here’s is their wedding trailer, thanks to the amazing team behind Enzi Wedding Films
for telling this story so perfectly well
