Today, just before I sat down to write this post, I was thinking, thinking about being Salt of the Earth. Everyone of us needs salt. Salt gives food & life its flavour, and without salt life would be empty, devoid of any meaning whatsoever. I desire to be salt, to make a difference, since that is the life God called us to when He called us Christians. I want to be a light, in this world, to shine the love of Jesus, & I together with my lovely wife Faith, pray that through our lives & work you will be able to see a little bit of Jesus…then our lives will not have been lived for nothing, we would have been salt, we would have made a difference.
Well, today we would love to share with you the last & final part of our wedding. We were very fortunate to have one of the best weddings ever…we laughed, danced, sang, hugged, cried, smiled…it was the wedding that Faith & I had always dreamt of. We are very very fortunate and thank God that even though we were not able to host y’all you can share our love & joy through these few images. Faith & I were so overwhelmed by all your love & comments on Season I of our wedding, in case you missed it you can check it out here. Even though it is not possible for us to reply to each & every comment, just know that every comment is precious to us both…and we hope that this blog will last for posterity so that even the generations to come after us will bear witness of all the love you guys shared with us…we are forever grateful and may our good Lord up above re-pay our debt to you 7 fold….without much ado here is the last part of our wedding….

We wanted something different, different is good & refreshing. We decided instead of doing the everyday shoot after the ceremony, we decided to go to a mall for some pizza 🙂 our mall of choice is TRM one of our all time fav malls, especially during our dating days 🙂
Chatting with gospel artiste Mr.T who stopped by to say hi…as Faith talks to her good buddy CK over the phone who was not able to make it to the wedding
Us posing for a few photos…we caused quite a stir at the entrance of the mall 🙂 till we had to get in just incase a situation developed…everybody wanted to take a photo with Faith 🙂
Mercy with Kris looking really fresh
Our best couple Ken & Peninah…just after Ken noticed the cameras pointing their way, Peninah doesn’t look too amused 🙂
As per the mall regulations we had to go through the security checks…despite us reminding the staff there that they should know people 🙂
Just in case we sneaked in some artillery in our designer suits 🙂
The staff at Pizza in were kind enough to allow our noisy party into their premises & even allowed us to shoot inside the inn…my sincere apologies to any disturbance that we might have caused to any of the patrons who were there….hungry people can be angry people 🙂
Just before we delved into our delicious delicacies, Simon who is also doubles up as a Youth Pastor (i.e. when he is off being a groomsman in weddings) shared a prayer with us
It seemed like it was a loooong prayer, well, he took good care to pray for the government, ministers, MPs and also his grandmother back in the village 🙂
An aerial view of how it all went down…notice also a camera on the table, good indication of how it all was a no holds barred situation…
The party got time to pose for some shots amidst all the chomping & munching 🙂
Kate & Simon 🙂
Posing for what?? Eat while you can…posing for photos is for the weak 🙂
When we were done with the meal, we decided to go & chill by the sofas and catch up on how the day had been
I have no idea what we were discussing here…but I can bet that it had something to do with our honeymoon and all the perks that it comes with 🙂
After that, the girls went to the little girl’s room to freshen up, we took the time to take some silly portraits 🙂
Maaaannnnn!!!! these gentlemen clean up reaaaaaalllly good. Well, the only one still on the singles market is Kris, so hurry while stocks last 🙂
As our fierce faces started to fade into smiles 🙂
Us reviewing the images from Allan’s camera…it seemed I was the only one who looked amused at the images…I guess its no walk in the park shooting a photographers wedding 🙂
After this we went to the wash rooms to freshen up…so ladies this is what happens in the little boys room, just in case you were wondering what normally takes place there
Does someone have the GQ number…I need to sell this photo to them…someone told me they need a cover for their April issue 🙂
Well, well…boys will always be boys…I have no idea what we were all shouting at Allan at this time…most probably that this photo will be some incriminating evidence some day 🙂
The security was tight just in case someone got the bright idea of kidnapping me on my wedding in the gents 🙂
After that we left for Sportsview for the reception where we were welcomed with so much love, ululations, drama & singing…
Faith had a change in outfit and I absolutely loved her second outfit…she did the Rwanda Mushanana too and also a golden birdcage…. I am of all men most blessed!!!!
Faith & I had this fixed smile on our face…everything was one big blur, so much joy, so many of our family & friends everywhere we looked…this is definitely the way to get married
We decided to do an indoor reception. We wanted our reception to be themed around dance. We wanted our family & friends to dance & celebrate our marriage together with us. We had planned for about 600 people but about 1K people came…so as you can see from these images we had a full house…but it was the most fun crowd ever…and yes there was as many cameras as there were people
The full house that was
Some of our buddies, Morray, Ngech & Gich from the Ignitaz came in to hype up the dance
And dancing we did
Faith’s mum gets spotted amongst the women during the dance
After the dance, our awesome MC Peter asked the ladies to take their seats, so that us the men can show them how the dance is done…..
Well, the upside to it is that the 4 of us, Ken, Simon, Kris & me are all former dancers…so we really got down major!
Hahahaha and no we had not rehearsed any of this earlier….this was 100% random 🙂
This dance is all about the belt & waist, and yes the smiley face too 🙂
Our MC Peter, the baddest MC in the game…if you want to dance in your reception, I would definitely recommend you going with Peter, contacts at the top of this post
And Peter got Faith’s dad to dance too…and we can see that he had not forgotten his moves judging from the reaction on the audiences faces 🙂
Finally the moment I had been waiting for all my life….my time to shiiiiiiinnnnneeeeeee!!!!!!
Hahahahah the audience reaction is too priceless…. Simon can get low too….:) spot the girls at the back mesmerised by their men 🙂
I am officially ditching photography & starting my own dance school…this awesome talent should not go to waste :O
This is what I call feeling the beat….to be a great dancer, you & the beat have to become one….hence the expression on my face 🙂
And the party was jumping jumping when Peter our MC requested DJ Sadiq to play Psy’s Gangnam Style….oh me, oh my!!!
it was every man for himself & God for us all!!!!!
The energy maaaaannnnn!!!! if only I could post the video of this dance!!!!! Hahahaha I can even spot Faith at the back trying a move or two 🙂
Hahahah it tells you that we were all good students in class the way we had all our hands raised trying to answer questions
And when the beat dropped, Kenyan men got down!
And the girls cheered us on
Sadly the dance had to come to an end since we had other serious matters at hand like…………….. eating 🙂
And this is when the MC asked who wants to get born again 🙂 we all raised our hands up….I raised two hands just to ensure that I did not miss the bus to heaven 🙂
And instead of eating, Faith & Peninah were busy catching up on small talk, while I eyed her plate enviously 🙂
Good times we had
My mum presented an African necklace to Faith as an indication that she had officially become part of the Kiruthis
I had to help in…seeing that the necklace had come with new locking mechanisms 🙂
My happy beautiful wife 🙂
Wedding traditions were not to be missed…for those who are not familiar with the Kenyan traditions, the mothers normally present a woven basket (Kiondo) to the bride telling her that when she goes to the market she is not to shop with nylon bags but with the woven basket presented to her
And they placed it on Faith’s head just to be certain she knew how to carry one
And she carried it ever so gracefully
My my my, don’t we ever stop laughing…happy peoples we are!
And when the chapati rolling board came out…it was my time to rejoice…. #Chapos#1Fan!!!!!
And when I told Faith this was my favourite gift of the day…she couldn’t stop laughing 🙂
And the MC Peter gave us this as his gift…and we laughed & laughed…clearly he is very creative when it comes to gifts
Loved this part where Rev Wakaba & his wife prayed over us…and dedicated our marriage to God. Truly one of the most special times in our wedding…we loved it so very much
And then we played the How Well Do You Know your partner, shoe game…and the questions those people asked us!!!! May God forgive their souls
This is where they asked us….if ever you are trapped in a deserted Island who will be the 1st to eat the other?
The only question we got correct was when they asked, Who drinks a woman’s soda? well for the answer to that question you have to bribe me very well 🙂
I have no idea what made us laugh so hard….but I can guess it was something really funny!
Our cake guys was really really amazing…Larimar Bakers outdid themselves completely with the design….and it was the yummiest Choco-Vanilla cake I ever did eat
Our cake toppers won the cake-toppers Oscars too…authentic African toppers
Aerial view of this awesomeness
Dancing around the cake just before we massacred it 🙂
Our good buddy Jane was our cake matron and she did a great job at it
And I took the biggest piece for myself 🙂 #EvilLaugh!!!
Hahahah I was just playing….I was telling Faith say Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!
As I forced Faith to bite the biggest piece on the plate 🙂
Her revenge was sweet as she got an even bigger piece for me, to my dismay 🙁 Thank God I was blessed with some expandable Croc jaws 🙂
We decided that champagne popping is too mainstream & instead each of us got a can soda to pop!!!
It was one monstrous soda pop….we got drenched really good 🙂
We went round distributing the yummy cake
Faith’s joy is infectious….it is hard to not to be terminally infected by her smile 🙂
Hahahaha both of us telling Faith’s dad open Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!! too priceless
Beautiful people all over….All African
After the cake it was time for the bouquet toss…I have never seen so many single women in one place!!! too bad it was only one girl who could get lucky
Up up and away the bouquet flew
I cannot for the life of me remember who caught the bouquet but I guess there was plenty of biting, chewing & scratching judging from the numerous amount of outstretched hands in this photo!
Just before the conclusion of the event…Faith & I gave out the vote of thanks ourselves. We wanted to do so, so that we could individually thank all the people who stood with us & supported us throughout this journey…it had been a loooooong loooong road, but it had been totally worth it!
Then we did our 1st dance…to the song that absolutely defines our lives together… John Legend’s All of Me!
And as is my usual I stole a kiss, to our parents horror :O
Here I am singing my heart out loudly…I wonder what song was playing
After this, we together with the bridal party; performed a choreographed dance to Eric Wainaina’s Hii Ngoma. As you can tell from our expressions…this dance was no joke…it was serious getting down
This is me trying to serenade Faith with my imaginary guitar 🙂
Hahahahaha that is us doing the infamous Twisti dance….man man….these were some good times
Note the expressions on our faces…this is what professional dancers are all about 🙂
The aerial view was marrrdddd…we were moving at the speed of light!!!!! 3 x 10^8m/s!!!!!
This is the part of the dance that says, Turn to you Neighbour 🙂
This was campaign~ Kick the devil out of Kenya 🙂
After our dance routine…the party officially started….we had to do a flash mob!!!! You cannot have a Kenyan wedding without a flash mob!!!
Kris shows us how to do the Mmh Baba dance…shake your head like you just don’t care!!!
Yep, this is how we do
Good good times we had…wish everyday was a wedding day
Kate & Simon throw down
And the man responsible for all the crazy dancing…the baddest DJ in the game…the mix genius DJ Sadic
Head & shoulders, knees & toes 🙂
Faith from Faimus Productions gets the video from the lowest of all possible angles
Oh man didn’t we dance…this has to be the only way to get married
No one was to be left behind
Too many young people in one place + Loud Music + Cray dance moves = Party of the Year!!!
We had time even to pose with some of our buddies…Photographer Daudi Millionaire with his lovely wife Eva
And the party went on….even Izo could not resist busting a few moves, camera tight in his hand 🙂
After about 2 hours of non-stop dance we had to call it a night since….the energy would have crushed down the roof
Just before we left we decided to take a few portraits just at the lobby of our hall….given that it was raining cats & dogs outside & the traffic was for days!
Best bridal party in the world, just incase you are looking for a bridal party for hire 🙂 this one will more than suffice 🙂
And the fatigue does not show….those monster drinks did us wonders
Then we did the bridal party couple portraits that I loved so much…1st up was our awesome best couple…Peninah & Ken, best best couple this world has to offer
Next was Kris Eeh Baba and Faith’s sister Mercy, they looked so cute together…& just to mention I would not mind having a celebrity for a brother in law 🙂 Cc:: Mercy
They have to be the most creative people we know and are our very best friends, whom we love ever so much XOXOOXOXOX
Finally Mr & Mrs Kiruthi 🙂
I have to be the luckiest man in the world, God gave me the most prettiest & loveliest life partner ever….Glory be to God
Peter our awesome wedding co-ordinator and his very lovely wife Jesse. Peter did the admirable & self-sacrificial job of putting this awesome wedding together…may God bless your kind soul Peter & also of your beautiful wife Jesse
Peter & Jesse here with our very good buddies Michigua & his wife Cynthia who also got married last year…you can check out their awesome joyful wedding here.
We took a group shot of all the young married couples from church…God has been really really faithful to all of us…since our youth days serving in ministry. From L-R :: The Irungus, Kamandes, Kiruthis, Ngaras & The Mbuguas 🙂
As is the norm we had to take a portrait with the Ngaras….below is the one we took after their wedding 🙂 3 months prior to ours
Damn!!!! the shot I had been dreaming of all my life 🙂
We fire like that 🙂 that’s it folks…after this we were too tired to even think 🙂 it was one amazing amazing wedding.
My lovely wife Faith & I would love to thank y’all who especially prayed for us during this wonderful period in our life. We had so many people praying for us from all over the world. We feel absolutely loved and we hope that in some ways our lives have touched yours….finally!!!‘In the same way, let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good deeds & praise your father in heaven’ (Matt 5:16)
Loads of love & Kisses,
