It has been exactly a year since Collina & Moses got married. And I thank God for the chance to share their wedding on our blog on their anniversary day. Hope this little something will brighten you up on this cold morning
Our paths crossed for the first time back in 2001 when we were still teenagers. We sat next to each other in the school bus that dropped us to our respectful schools after a basketball tournament. The time we shared on our ride back to school was awesome, sharing a packet of biscuits and laughing all the way and before we knew it we had to part ways. The ride was mysteriously short but I guess time really flies when you are having a good time.
The assumption we had when we parted ways was that we would meet again during the next tournament. Unfortunately, fate had other plans and we both got transferred to different schools and we never crossed paths again up until 2009 when we became colleagues working in the same company.
Our interaction at the office was quite minimal since we had different job descriptions and neither did we interact much socially other than the few occasions when colleagues got together to hang out.
We started bumping into each other frequently on a social level late in 2011 when we both played in the basketball league. Once again, basketball had brought us together and this time we had all the time to know each other and ultimately fall in love.
Life at the office was never the same as they say “ Penzi ni kikohozi hakifichiki.” All our colleagues who are now close friends got to know of our relationship and were extremely supportive. It is because of them, friends, family and most of all our heavenly Father that we got to have one of the happiest days of our lives and for that we will be forever grateful.

If ever there was a wedding that personified a dance party, this would be the one, but let me not get ahead of myself. The day started off with hair and makeup and Freddy did a marvelous job with the ladies. The mood had a tinge of anxiety with everybody trying to keep time but generally, happiness engulfed even the most tensed up person.
James works his magic on Collina’s hair
Collina’s dress was absolutely stunning! The embedded bead work added a bit of vitality and glamour which accentuated her already evident beauty.
She indeed was the most beautiful woman of the day.
Tears were not spared as Collina’s mom took the opportunity to give her daughter final words of wisdom before she tied the knot.
Ululations filled the air as women sang songs of celebration for their ‘girl’ was becoming a ‘woman’.
On the grooms side, the mood was very calm and mellow.
Moses was all smiles as he got ready.
He went all out to look his best for Collina and of course, despite some desist, all the boys had to get a little powder on their faces too.
Our next venue was the St Marks Church in Westlands.
The church was spic and span, ready for the bride and groom.
Moses walked in in style. He was beyond ready to say ‘I do’.
Collina looked angelic as she walked down the aisle with her parents by her side.
Her parents were so overjoyed, they could not withhold their smiles.
Moses’ ear to ear smile says it all. He was ecstatic !!
He had to ensure that it was really his bride behind the beautiful veil.
Pst. Simon Mwangi was filled with humor as he officiated the ceremony. Spasms of laughter filled the church as he did his thing.
vows were said ….
As they bid single hood adieu…
….And rings were exchanged.
Finally, they did their 1st kiss on the alter as husband & wife
…..And legal documents were signed.
It was official, they were man and wife.
And the great announcement! They were finally husband & wife
They briskly walked out of the church with brand new titles, MR & MRS.
Aren’t they the cutest couple in earth
We briefly moved our photo shoot to Southern Sun Mayfair and it was absolutely lovely!
The black, white and hints of red fused perfectly into each other.
A leap of faith was taken for this shot.. hehehe…
They expelled much poise and elegance.
Genuine laughter made my pictures come to life.
The reception was at the Lions Sight first Eye Hospital in Loresho and the decor was absolutely gorgeous.
Tonnes of food was provided and the guests were generously fed! It was a feast!
The happy couple walked in with song and dance and this my friends, is where the party began.
The mugithi train was on full gear to happy town!
Everyone had to show off a few dance moves . It was lit !
The grooms men had to show the ladies how to get down!
A number of songs later, the couple took a minute to replenish. If I had danced like they did, I would have needed two of those plates to get back on my feet.
Speeches were made and gifts were given.
Moses and Collina later took the dance floor for their first dance. It was beautiful.
Looks like Moses forgot a crucial dance move.. hehehe..
After what sweet tooth’s would call a long wait, it was finally cake cutting and champagne popping time.
Huge mouthfuls of cake were shared.
…and quenching gulps of champagne were taken..
Time for the meet & greet.
And of course, the single ladies demanded a bouquet toss. Lets just say they looked like sports athletes as they tried to catch the bouquet.
Normally, I would finish here with heartfelt remarks, but not today my friends. The party went on!!!
The couple even had to change into something more comfortable.
As the old lyrics go, ‘tunajump tunaruka!’
They danced the night away.
‘Chini kwa chini ‘ was all Moses understood at the time! This ladies and gentlemen is how you enjoy your wedding day.
Cheer s to the happy couple!
We moved away from the crowd to get a few intimate shots.
And clearly, they made my work quite easy.
