We met in Langata where we grew up, we had been seeing each other around Langata but never got to speak until we met at a mutual friends house, this friend was flying out to the US and had a farewell party. When David first saw me he asked me out for a cup of tea – I jokingly responded “ Do you think I am your wife?”
We never got to meet again until when I joined campus – KU where I could see him every so often whenever he was visiting with his friends.
At that time David had a friend who was going out with one of my close friends, Incidentally, David’s friend was also my brother’s friend, therefore David started visiting my house often “to see my brother”.
We soon became fast friends and in early 2002 we started going out.We were blessed with our first child in 2008 and the second one in 2011. David proposed in 2015 during the Easter holidays when they had travelled with family and friends to Baobab Resort.
And this love story culminated to one of the happiest days of our wonderful lives, the day we got married. I would love to thank part of the team that helped bring our fairy to life

Enjoy snippets from our Reggae themed wedding,
Bernahdette & David
Some of Bernahdette’s detail for this beautiful wedding
So Happy For You Bernahdette
David was not to be left behind in getting his prep on
David had gotten a white armoured Range Rover to ferry his beautiful bride
Ooopsy I forget to mention he had also gotten EIGHT other range rovers to take care of the rest of the bridal party. Let me just stick to the lane I am used to 🙂
At the brides, make-up was just getting started
Did I mention it was going to be a reggae themed wedding? Bernahdette & David’s liking to this particular genre of music is somewhat fanatical
This is just Bernahdette slaying as she normally does
What’s a wedding without a pouting pic?
Let’s just say we stopped quite a bit of traffic and broke a few necks in the process 🙂
Suave style, is defined in totality in the above pic
David has a pretty calm ‘bride-walking-down-the-aisle’ face!
Their cute little son got to play the violin as his mum walked down the aisle, how sweet!
Perspective does look good
Special moments like this, warm my soul
These kiddos are the boss!!! or maybe we have been getting seating on pews wrong all this time
With the current state of insecurity you can never be too careful 🙂
Wilbroda was one hilarious Mistress of Ceremonies
After this we headed for the beautiful Hemingways Nairobi for some quick dusk portraits
One of the biggest & craziest bridal parties ever shot on African soil 🙂
The Rastafarian colours never did look this good
With Sheba & Nick, their best couple
Aren’t they the world’s cutest couple
No time to waste, the party waits for no man!!!
***Cough, cough, they had a surprise chopper in waiting
This is them shutting out all them nosy haters 🙂
And then we were airborne, choppers have a tendency of getting your adrenaline going, especially if you got a front row seat to all the fun 🙂
Karen is just gorgeous from the skies
We landed to get the convoy ready to ferry us from the pad to the reception
We were glad to have our feet on safe, solid ground 🙂
The set up that greeted us was all sorts of lovely
The rectangular tables and the pineapple centre pieces deserve no mean applause
Look at their cake, isn’t this super- creative
They even had their pet names on the menu, how cute is that!
We got in just as the party hit fever pitch
Why wear a Marzoni blazer if no one notices?
Kris Darlin was here to fire up the party
What is money!!!
Chop, chop, chop it all!
Time to cut in to this yummy cake!
Who would have guessed the cake would be layered in Rastafarian colours?
After this it was party till day break
Cheers to the newly weds!!! To a happy life, to greatness and leaving a mark in this, our Lord’s earth
