Great, great wedding this was. It is always beyond words for our good Lord to enable us to capture such a wonderful moment between two lovers & freeze this moment for posterity for them. Phyllis & Mark contacted me via email that they needed us to shoot their wedding. I, then met them sometime later on to get to talk and learn more of one another before their big day. I came to find out that Phyllis is Ugandan (Just like me :-)) while Mark is Kenyan. They both work & lived in South Africa, so it was a culture melting pot of sorts. We (Martin & I) were more than honored to shoot their lovely wedding day… The whole wedding took place at the beautiful Oak Place Training & Conference Centre, in Kiambu road. It is important to remind soon to be brides, that one of the main ingredients to getting amazing photos on your wedding day is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION….
Here are some excerpts from this lovely day….
Phyllis gets her make-up done early morning…she had just checked in from the salon, the wedding was due to start at 1pm…so we were all easy
The MUA, really had her game on point, I love shooting make-up shots from a bird’s view, I just grabbed a seat & shot away 🙂
Phyllis was constantly on phone, but she was relaxed & easy; receiving many congratulatory calls & messages from friends & family
Oh, don’t kiddoz make the best subjects…you can never go wrong with such shots…innocence itself
Phyllis gets her gown back straps fastened
A wider view of all the activity going on….Phyllis looked lovely in her gown
I loved the jewelry stuck on her back….it was something unique, never have I seen it before
It was an emotional moment when Phyllis realized that her sister would not be able to make it for the wedding as she was unwell. Phyllis consoles her via phone.
High spirits as Phyllis is ushered out of home as a bachelorette for the final time by her parents
The emotion of the moment could be told no better
Breath-taking Oak-place grounds
I froze the fountain waters 🙂
The guests checked-in in droves, dressed to the occasion none the less
And they took photos too 🙂
Aaaaaaawwwwwww!….. so very sweet, don’t you think?
The party rolls in…
The procession was FUN!
The bride checks in, entrance fit for a princess
Introducing the awesome couple
Hilarious moment as Mark says his vows
With this ring….I make you my wife
Hahaha! the kiss was something I will live to remember….haha! Mark stole the day
The guests too could not keep their excitement in
So sweet, such precious love between the two
Haha! the bridal party was a blend of emotions 🙂
Lighting of the unity candle….I love this love ritual right here
Yep…Phyllis places the certificate in Mark’s jacket pocket & with it a licence too, to where all the money is kept 🙂
Now the newly weds walk out ecstatically hand in hand….what God has put together….
A group of sweet children were 1st to congratulate the newly weds
All of sudden the skies became gloomy & we were beside ourselves with joy & glee as this provides the best kind of shooting weather any photographer can hope for, we shot away…
Those twins were super-cute 🙂
The whole awesome bridal party. Just to mention that I had never seen two different colors for the maids. And it was perfect….kudos to Mark & Phyllis!
The ladies looked nothing short of smashing
Another set of lovely twins *So I guess 🙂
Pink has to be the best color on Maids’ dresses, its Faith’s favorite pick too
My lens was humbled shooting angels 🙂
That was one sharp young gentle man
Phyllis & the grooms men & boys looking the part
Black & white captures the emotion so perfectly
Fit for a magazine cover
That cake!!!!! enough said
Check in like a baussss
The couple with Mark’s folks…having all the joy in the world
Getting down seriously!
One hilarious MCee he was 🙂
It was the cock-tail affair so to say
This was one of the moments I loved most in the wedding. Usually as a sign of respect, Ugandans kneel to honor their elders. Here the couple kneel as they present the cake to Mark’s parents…
Guess who caught the bouquet to win a free shoot 🙂
And the sun set to a wonderful, beautiful wedding….Faith & I do wish Mark & Phyllis a happy & joyous life ahead, with God’s wonderful grace as their anchor!
