Hi guys….my sincere apologies for all my sporadic posting…kindly bear with me as I try and live 9 lives in one 🙂 Crazy schedule… but I thank our good Lord for all His undeserved blessings upon our lives…a lot has been happening…a lot of good 🙂 and at least God is giving us the rare chance to travel the country and share our story with others…of what He can do to a life that is totally yielded to Him….
Then sometime last week “The People’ newspaper run a feature on us 🙂 Glory be to the most high God 🙂
Well, enough of us…this week on the blog we feature an African love story…one of the one we had the most fun shooting…Abby & Tim are such a wonderful couple…we had the privilege of shooting their beautiful wedding a few weeks ago in Karen, Kenya. The weather was perfect & it set a glorious backdrop to be able to tell this wonderful love story….here is this beautiful African Love Story
Wedding Planner :: Rosemary Teka of Splendid Weddings
Ceremony & Reception :: Kenya School of Law, Karen
Photo-session :: Ngong House
Gown :: Bride & Co
Jewellery :: Kazuri
Photography :: Faith Gathoni & Ben Kiruthi
Assisting :: Mike Karuri
Faith was covering Tim & the boys and she did a splendid job…documenting what was going on there
Tim getting helped into his shirt….they decided to do an African themed wedding…splendid choice!
On the other hand…at Abby’s we were churning up our creative juices
African sandals!!!! yes this is definitely my kind of bride
These two images were taken by me & Faith simultaneously (Well, I amuse myself) at different locations….we have this telepathy going on
I just loved the little ship with Abby’s shoes…signified her sailing away from home…I guess 🙂
I ran upstairs and got the girls running about…its always wonderful capturing the chaos, tears & joy that are part of the morning wedding prep…one of my favourite times of the day
Beautiful Do-It-Yourself bouquet
Morning preparation underway
Abby was happy, happy…it was going to be a beautiful day
I used natural window light for this and the next shots…I loved the natural feel to the photos, some of my day’s favourites
Abby & her beautiful maid of honour…truly lovely
Veiling the bride
The moment when a bride is veiled is such a bitter-sweet moment…sweet that the day she had dreaming about all her life had finally come and bitter because she was leaving her old life to begin one of the unknown
That diva moment every girl has 🙂
Before they left to go downstairs the ladies prayed together…now in all the weddings I have attended that they have remembered to pray, are some of the very best weddings I have ever attended
Time to go ladies
That awesome, timeless stair-case shot
Abby looked amazing!!!
Got into the car…and off we were to KSL for the ceremony
Rosemary of Splendid Weddings…had done an amazing job with the set-up…she nailed the African theme 100%
The skies were so blue…and the palm trees completed the look
Sweet little kiddo
Family & friends were here to cheer them on….
Stunning, so to say 🙂
I spotted one of the guests with a serious camera…it deserved a photo of its own 🙂
I am a trained Engineer, so you know electronics and me are synonymous
And the ceremony started…good times we had…wonderful moments indeed
From this side of the globe we say it like ‘Shikilia’ well in English… eeeerrrrrrr….I do not know how to say it…its just some form of greeting 🙂
Hahahah Tim 🙂
Tim was one happy man…it was hard to hide 🙂
Certificate signing is always fun, at least all the tension is gone…we married babe!!!
Hahahaha…I can’t remember what the joke was….but from the look of things it was pretty hilarious
#WeAreOne literally 🙂
After that we left for the beautiful Ngong House for a few fun portraits
Looks like the dog don’t like girly things
The ladies bring it on!
Boys just like having fun
Hahahaha…let no man or for this case Explorer put asunder 🙂
Poker faces 🙂
It was a manicure affair….I loved the array of colours
Painted toes go quite well with African sandals
Abby’s maid of honour was with child…this shot is just a master-piece
Hahahaha very creative bridal team
The guys were not as creative as the ladies…but O well….guys are just cool like that
Time for some fun solos…the ladies really know how to bring it!!!
When we got back to KSL, the party was in full swing…like they had just been waiting for us to check in
It was party the African way
Heheheh lovely capture…I captured this shot in between the wedding cakes
That’s the cake I was talking about…an African fireplace for a cake 🙂
And as the tradition states…Abby had to prove to us all that she had some training in the kitchen department
A lot of love & emotion was shared during the reception
Hehehehe good times
Cheers to a good life ahead
Heheheheh…we all know what he will be when he grows up….
We went back to Ngong house for some last look portraits
We found a pool and as you know I am a sucker for water & reflections
The reflection is 100% real btw…wow I loved it!
The suites at Ngong house well…are to live for!!!!!
Some good aerial view
Its all in the eyes 🙂
And the happily ever after started 🙂 well…at least for as long as it lasted 🙂
And the flowers we found in the suite were put to some wonderful use 🙂
And yes…nothing as beautiful as ending this African Love Story by reading the real African Love Story :)… truly Abby & Tim were made for each other…
Faith & I are really glad to be able to tell this love story via our lens…we are truly blessed to be part of your wedding day Tim & Abby…may God bless you as you start your new life as husband & wife…
Btw just before we sign off Jemedari Media just finished off our Ruracio wedding trailer….here is the link
Blessed day folks and we appreciate all the love you guys giving us…All glory belongs to the most high God
