ION today we are more than thrilled to share with you guys another amazing love story of a wedding we shot quite a while ago. Beatrice & Martin’s amazing love story has taken them on a wild 10 year romance safari that culminated in their beautiful white wedding. We shot their engagement shoot a while ago, you can check it out here.
I took the time to ask Martin how this African Love safari started; and this is what he had to say about it…
‘Our love story started 10 years ago; July 2004, when we met in Campus. For me it was a case of “I like what I see and would like to know her better”. Through a group of friends, I would secretly send small love notes to ask for a meeting/date and to let her know that her prince charming had arrived and…… that this was the beginning of the end of her search for Mr. Right!!!. As fine as she was & still is, I should have thought better, as my notes went unanswered. Though, on the positive side… the side glances definitely increased and so did the confidence to ask her out. Fast forward to the first date/”study session” (as it all starts in Campus)..…we found out we had so much in common, having grown up in Mombasa at some point, love for coastal food and life, living in the same neighbourhood enjoying the same type of music and our love for travel and exquisite/fine dining all set the tone for a great friendship and love that led to us joining hands together in matrimony on 6th September 2014. I give thanks to God for giving me such a beautiful wife; my best friend, my treasure and the love of my life-safari.’

Gathoni kick started the day off by capturing Martin’s details at their lovely home
Super cute!!! the engagement ring found a sweet home with these two cute birdies
We found a sweet spot to display Beatrice’s gown just by the entrance to their apartment
We grabbed a quick breakfast & just before we could document the make up session, we styled Beatrice’s details for the day
Splashes of living colour everywhere you turned
Styling details is a job we can do all day, any day 🙂
Back at the guys’, Martin was busy texting his soon-to-be bride looking a wee-bit pensive
And ‘poof’ all the tension & jitter was gone in a jiffy, time to get me a wifey!!!!
Brother got game, serious game
You can tell a gentleman’s class by simply looking at his shoes
And with these serious demeanours it was time to head for the ceremony
Meanwhile at Beatrice’s end, the party was just getting started!!!
MUA Koby works his magic on our lovely bride of the day Beatrice
Beatrice is helped by her maids to get into her lovely white gown
Good times we had
As Beatrice was getting her finishing touches done, I took the time to get some portraits of the lovely bridesmaids
Their cute little daughter warms up to my lens
***As I look for another career with less upcoming competition
These little angels could really pose!
Such a sweet mother & daughter moment
All the girls together
And the ride was here…time to leave for the ceremony
Oh and the women from Martin’s side were pretty excited to get to welcome a new bride to their household
This photo-op was not one to be missed
Here comes your girl Martin!!!
Martin seemed pretty excited to unveil his beautiful new bride
The worship team at PBC leads us all in such beautiful worship
And with these vows I thee wed

Oh my I loved this dedication to God
And the kiss of the century goes to……Loved their 1st kiss so much
This young soldier sang so beautifully, definitely a great talent waiting in the wings
He got a warm hug fitting his performance from Beatrice
Give it up for the newest couple in town!!!!
A joy that knows no bounds
After this, we headed to Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel for the portraits session…it was overcast & we were really pressed for time; but we did the best we could, with what we had
It’s such a lovely location for a shoot
Big lovely bridal team
The girls walk it out
Gentlemen looking dapper
After this, it was time for some portraits with the bride & groom & each individual member of the bridal party
Martin with the girls
Beatrice with the guys
The saga of grown men & their fear of flowers continues shortly….
Uh uh this is big boy business
Happy family moments
Time to go people head back to the reception
Let’s just say by the time we got to the reception, the party was jumping!!!
It had just rained and the grass was really slippery, though there was nothing to dampen the mood of the party
Happy people everywhere you turned
This kiddo had nothing but ‘love‘ for the displayed pictures
A few house-keeping tips 🙂
1st dance tings!
And the dance was sealed with this passionate KISS!
And then it was time for cake
And pop went the champagne!!!! time to get the party on!!!!!
And with this image we left the reception & headed back to Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel for the last look session of the night
Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel have a no shoot policy after 6pm so as not to interfere with their patrons, but they were kind enough to allow us to shoot…God bless their kind souls
And then some outdoor gorgeousness
Then we hit the indoors!
Some wine glass love before the curtain falls on the night
Love the way she looks at him, lots of passion in those eyes
And before we called it a night we had to do a portrait of all of us together..lovely day it had been….
As always all glory, honour & praise belongs to the most high God, for it is through Him we live, move & have our being…
Loads of love & God’s blessings,
