We met in April 2006, less than a year after I had left Nairobi to live in Melbourne. At the time, we only lived 5 minutes apart and would often see each other near the bus stop or at the park. One day, I just decided to build up the courage and talk to Amanda and it turned out, coincidently that we had some mutual friends. We also happened to be in the same level in high school, although we both went to different schools we could relate to so many things, as we were both at the same point in our lives. After we first spoke, we exchanged numbers and as they say, the rest is history.
Being so young at the time, we were friends for a while first, but knew we had something special. Our relationship and love for each other grew stronger and we spent just about every other day together. After graduating from high school we began University and starting working but we were still inseparable.
One of the many things we have in common is our love for travel. We went on our first overseas adventure together in 2010, to South East Asia. Since then, we have been back to Kenya on many occasions as well as Europe, America and the Caribbean. We both treasure those times, as we were able to experience so many new and exciting things together and develop our relationship as a couple.
I took Amanda to Kenya for the first time in 2011, it was also my first time home since leaving in 2005. I already knew well by this point, that I was going to marry her one day and we both knew that when that day came we would get married in Kenya.
Even though we already knew we were going to spend the rest of our lives together, I made it official and proposed to Amanda in September, 2012.
On December 29, 2015 we fulfilled our dream and were married in Kenya, before God, our family and our friends. It was truly a beautiful day.

Love to end this post with this image, a true depiction of what marriage is. Two different people, from diverse backgrounds come together and live together as one entity. The two souls merge into one and they live happily ever after, in JESUS’ name.
Amanda & Lang, we wish you a happily ever after, full of joy, laughter & happiness that this new life brings you.
Blessings & God speed!
