Aida & Michael : A Jewish Wedding

It seems to be no coincidence that we met at a place called Global Lounge. An inclusive place that welcomes people of all cultures, of all faiths, & backgrounds. It was September 2015; I had been working in the role that Michael had applied for. Michael says that he had been intimidated by me as I had been the successful applicant for the job he wanted. For myself, I had been surprisingly shy when I first saw him that day, taken aback by his handsomeness.

It wasn’t until January 2016 that we had our first date. Michael asked me to go to an improv show. Later on we attended a party of a mutual friend where we literally talked and laughed the night away.

Our third or fourth date was on Valentine’s Day where Michael created a treasure hunt around Vancouver, where we had another opportunity to get to know more about each other. That same weekend, Michael invited me to Victoria to meet his family.

We had the most beautiful engagement ever! In September 2017, after I admittedly told Michael that I almost proposed to him :), Michael knew it was about time & he wanted the engagement to be romantic and meaningful.

It was during a dinner at a friend’s house that Michael sneaked out pretending to he was taking a friend to the hospital who was stung by a wasp. I was then led to the global lunge (Where we 1st met) by our friends who wanted me to surprise Michael with a cake I had got him. Little did I know that the surprise was on me. They led me to the beautiful circular room which now had a candle-lit pathway leading towards Michael who was on one knee, wearing a suit and Kenyan scarf, and was encircled by candlelight.

I was so surprised and happily accepted his proposal, I also joked that he beat me to proposing 1st.  Michael’s final surprise was that my mum, dad, and sister were on Skype, allowing them to participate in the whole process.

Michael, completes me and fills me with so much joy, and we could not want a better wedding that to come to Kenya and have a dream wedding with all our friends and family around us.

Here are the best moments from one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever attended. No words at all needed for this one…the pictures speak a million words…

To Aida & Michael,

We pray that God guides you in your new adventure. May God pour out His blessings on you two, and may all your hopes and dreams come true. Lastly, may the memory of this day become dearer with each passing year”
