This is a tale of romance, passion & love that traverses borders…I first met Corazon almost a year to the wedding. I paid her a courtesy call to her office & she told me that she would love me to shoot her wedding. I was honoured, and it was a real joy to shoot her beautiful wedding. Adolphe is Rwandese & I was pretty excited to shoot their cross-cultural wedding since I adore anything that is outside the norm.
This is how Faith & I documented their precious wedding day…
Photography :: Faith Mwathi & Ben Kiruthi
Ceremony :: Don Bosco Catholic Church
Reception :: Moi Educational Centre
Photo-session :: Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel
The day began pretty early, we were at Corazon’s by 5 AM!!!! Never been so sleepy & groggy like this…We was on zombie mode! All in all Faith & I did our very best
The fuchsia on the maids looked lovely, this is one color that never fails to impress
A silhouette of the maid of honour oiling Corazon’s back
Corazon made such a gorgeous bride!
Corazon getting her head jewellery in place…Faith, this def a must have in our wedding…the transformation is impeccable!
From the ‘reflection’ of things; looked like Corazon loved the transformation too!
The finished product looked lovely! Adolphe had met his lovely match!
On the other hand, Adolphe & his boys were prepping him for the big day!
Back at the bridal prep…we were lighting things up…the ladies & lovely were synonymous!
These ladies looked lovely!
The maid of honour was clad in black! now that was unique!!!
Sometime for some bridal portraits…the bouquet was a cocktail of flowers
There goes the veil, as you can see beauty was not lacking at all 🙂
Yep that was how it looked from my lens…now as my people down at the Coast love to say…‘Harusi we havu, we have noti’ (Do or do we not have a wedding!)
Loved this shot, as Corazon was ushered into her ride for the day…the tension dispelled, the bride was a mask of joy & good-tidings ready to get herself a handsome husband
When we got to the church, Adolphe & the guys were looking pretty sharp…this was going to be one wedding I would enjoy shooting…it was all systems go, go!
Bride’s rides do not come any better than this maroon BMW X6…now this is one car I would love to begin married life in 🙂 Cc:: Gathoni Mwathi
This side profile absolutely killed it…there few things more precious than an image caught unaware of unsuspecting bridesmaids 🙂
Inside the church…the church looked lovely..the deco was simple but exquisite…loved it!
Perspective never looked lovelier than this!
There was beauty everywhere our lenses roamed to!
The choir did a lovely job of belting out notes…I did a better job at capturing them 🙂
And the procession got off to a rousing start
This black & white capture, froze this moment so beautifully!
Corazon walked down the isle, her parents on either side…it was a glorious moment to behold!
Beautiful moment as Father relinquishes the arm of his beautiful daughter to her soon to be groom…I live for wonderful moments as these
The row of ties…mmmhhhh! yes we was on a photography high!
These ladies put the beautiful in BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS!
I loved the bare feet of the dancing children…innocence is what this image portrays
And the sombreness disappeared in the shake of a duck’s tail 🙂 and the happiness gear was engaged!
Oh yes…these are the timeless photos I hope I will keep taking for the rest of my photography life!
Adolphe’s lovely sister does the day’s reading
The choir did such a wonderful job with the harmonies…that explains two photos in one post
I would love to know who styled the maid of honour’s locks & give them a hair grammy!!! This was legendary!
For better & worse…remember to always say it with a smile…at least for the flashing cameras’ sake 🙂
Corazon embracing her father…precious moments like this are simply the reason I adore shooting weddings
There was a lot of love going round….*As I ask Faith for a hug too 🙂
The bride & groom accept gifts from the congregation!
The Don Bosco Catholic church is a photographer’s dream. The detail around the church was picturesque!
Aaaaaah! there was so many timeless images we captured during the service…shots like this show the emotion that I was unable to describe.
Adolphe’s mum was livid with joyous emotion…and she shared it with those about her
Penning that all important signature…Adolphe’s face tells it all
Hahahaha! Adolphe gives Corazon the look, unbuttoning clothes in church I see 🙂
Proudly husband & wife…they make such a cute couple!!!
The bouquets!!!! Lying there in all their glory as if posing for a shot 🙂
This MC!!!!! What…funniest & most creative MCee I have come across, I should get his details & share them with you guys. Here he was telling us that he is very slim because he heard the road that leads to heaven is a narrow one. And since he wants to get in, he watches his diet 🙂
Lovely shot with parents, Father & the bridal team…lovely indeed!
The recession, Adolphe & Corazon started off their life with song & dance…to a happy, happy life ahead!
We got the Fairmont, and as the ladies were doing the touch-ups we started off with the gentlemen…class & all!
We were able to cram up all this beauty in one place, I guess the only qualification to be on Corazon’s line up was flawlessness 🙂
One big co-operative party…I always thank God for such as these…a lot of bridal teams give photographers hell…I have my own horror-stories which I will reserve for a more appropriate time & day!
I have shot few better group shots than this. There was; I guess, a partron at the pool area who was kind enough to allow us to shoot by the pool…I thank God always for kind & understanding partrons
I told them to close in the gaps, no air I call it 🙂
STOP! CAUTION! Lovers at work!!!
It was suddenly getting hot all over for no apparent reason 🙂
This shot was inspired by one good friend of mine Osborne Macharia ; as they like saying it….MARRIAGE IS HARD WORK!!
Love it…the colours!!!! Oh my…my loyal Canon camera works hard for its money 🙂
Corazon doing a mini crowd-surf 🙂 these peoples are fun!!!
Who said that marriage is hard work???? Scratch that…this looks like super-fun 🙂
Gentlemen!!!! You killed it on this one!!
Adolphe usually cracks jokes with a straight face 🙂 the ladies were not so lucky 🙂
After we kicked out the bridal team…we had some few minutes to get all up-close & in each other’s face 🙂 loved these images of the two love birds
Aaaaaahhhh these two! if love had a face, this would be it
The grass never looked so lovely…I thank Corazon for agreeing to rock her frock on the ground
Peaceful & serene
Oh yes!!!! yes yes!
Aaaaaah this is what fairy tales are made of…
After we was done we headed to Moi Educational Centre for the reception, we was welcomed with Rwandese dancers who did a splendid job as always
Adolphe sister shows us how the Rwandese get down…the arms are the essence of the dance
This is a snippet of how we was getting down!
Everyone bust a move & God for us all…
Thee MOG was also in the yard & Boss & Kenti gave us many reasons to dance!
Corazon was not one to lead the dancing from behind…she took the bull by horns, earrings & all 🙂
Hahahaha good times 🙂
Aaaaahhh yes…these Rwandese Dancing troupe should just relocate to Kenya…they will be booked all year round…such finesse dancing…
The detail is in the hand movement
They then sat around Corazon & Adolphe and each presented them with a symbolic gift of sorts…this was so lovely…each gift had a symbolic meaning to their marriage
The guys from the troupe also presented Adolphe with spear & shield, I gather to defend his bride with!
There was plenty of song & dance…Rwandese culture is so beautiful & rich!
The cake!!! Whossssahhhh! The detail was amazing…it tasted even better, just for the record 🙂
After the cake-cutting & meet & greet…we called it a day. Faith & I were completely exhausted we had been on our feet a straight 13 straining hours. Thank God after all was said & done we said our goodbyes & headed home…
One final image of the beautiful couple…this wedding had so so much beauty & the joy was real. I am really greatful to Corazon & Adolphe for allowing us to share this beautiful day with them & indeed wish them the very best that this life has to offer them.
Thanks for sticking through to the end…we thank God for you always…
Lovely Weekend guys & God guide & keep you till we hook up again,
Ben & Faith!!!
