This was our 2nd wedding in Lamu and we absolutely enjoyed this experience again. Lamu is a small magical Island off the Kenyan Coast. It is accessed only by boat and it has its own life & culture. It is predominantly Swahili and is one of the best sites to tour locally. Nitha & Nathan had an intimate dreamy wedding in the Island of Shela in Lamu. As always we thank God Almighty for the chance to document some of the beautiful moments as these two tied the knot.

How they met
Our mutual friend Harpuneet Ghuman (who performed reading at our wedding) moved into Nathan’s house in the summer of 2013. Nathan and Harpuneet had a dinner party at their place and Harpuneet invited Nitha to join. Nitha and Nathan have been best friends ever since.
The gorgeous The Dhow House on Shelawhere the morning preparation and ceremony was to take place
Nitha’s gorgeous dress & heels for the day. BTW Nitha’s dress is available for sale. In case you interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org for details about dress.
Nitha & her girls excited as always just before they got into their wedding outfits
Nathan’s shoes looking quite at home against the swahili background
All dressed up and ready to go! Let us get Nitha married!
Walking down the aisle, the sunset was heavenly!
Gorgeous Nitha is walked down the aisle flanked by her folks
Yess!!! This is the reaction every bride needs to get as she is escorted down the aisle
A very tearful handover with an amazing speech from dad
Nitha goes through the motions of her vows to Nathan
Nathan too did not spare us the tears as he declared his vows to Nitha
Nathan felt like he had hit the jackpot!
And Nitha too…finally signed into law…now legally husband & wife!
Such a cute, cute couple these two make!
And it was sealed with a kiss, the little girl stole the show though 🙂
Happiness all round during the post ceremony meet and greet
A toast to the newly weds, to more happiness & good times ahead
Crazy vs Serious I cannot decide which I like best!
After this we walked down to Kijani House for a dreamy reception decked with fairy lights and awesome food
The Lamu men gave us a stunning presentation, a great cultural experience
The speeches were fantastic, emotional and witty all rolled up in one
Everybody lit a sparkler for their 1st dance
And after this it was all party till the AM a great conclusion to an amazing day
The next day we did our post-wedding shoot as we now had a lot of time to explore and walk around
Such a glorious joy to photograph and very easy on the eyes 🙂
Nothing can beat this backdrop, clear waters with Swahili dhows idling about
I call this the flying dress shot…every bride needs this in her wedding gallery 🙂
The sun was so hot! but Nitha & Nathan braved it for such yummy images
Sshhhhh! Do not disturb, Married couple at work! 🙂
The narrow Lamu streets had to make an appearance somehow
And with these two images we called it a day…a wonderful conclusion to this beautiful wedding
We wish you all the best Nitha & Nathan may God keep you two this amazing and always this in love with each other
