Well, my sincere apologies for being so silent this week. It has been a long, terrifying week for most of us in Nairobi, Kenya as a result of the Westgate terrorist attack. I thank our precious Lord & Saviour for protecting Faith & I, and keeping us well…Our tears, prayers and love go to all the families who lost their precious loved ones and also the many lying in pain in hospital beds. We serve a mighty, mighty God, and He will carry you safely through this.
Sometime this past August we shot a beautiful & joyous wedding for some two very wonderful buddies of our, Cynthia & Mike. We attend the same church, so it was a real joy to shoot this wedding at my church and share in the love & celebration of this wonderful couple. Mike was the youth leader who took after me at church, so we shared a real special bond, while Faith & Cynthia have been buddies like for ever.
I absolutely loved their wonderful wedding & their love, joy & happy spirits can be seen in all these images….take a sit, relax and enjoy this beautiful Kenyan Wedding
Ceremony :: PCEA Kahawa Farmers Church
Reception :: Victoria Gardens, Kiambu

Somewhere in the diaspora 🙂 of Kiambu lived a beautiful, lovely maiden
Her hard work & sweat was evident to all who knew her
Many times when the sun was too hot she rested beneath the banana leaves
And everyone in Kiambu knew she cooked the best food in the village
Everybody said, that whoever would win her heart, was the luckiest man in the world
And everyday, at daybreak she would rise up early to fetch water at the community tank
And she also gave all the cattle water
Every time before she gave the cows water she whispered to the cows…you may call her ‘Cow-Whisperer!’
And after the sweet words, no cow could resist the refreshing cold water she offered them…
One lucky day this beautiful maiden Cynthia, found her knight in shining armour…a Man’s man. His name is Michael
And on this day, he thanked the Lord for a beautiful gift from above
And on this very special day…he had his boys to help him get into his attire for the day
Yes, Mike the knight in shining Tux
And like Cinderella, Cynthia had her slippers, even though they were not made of glass…they very nearly resembled it 🙂
And wolla!!!!! the princess was made…from a simple village maiden to a princess, a bride…and today she was marrying the man of her dreams
And as always the women of the village were here to sing & celebrate with Cynthia as she left her home, for one final time as a bachelorette
Song & dance was synonymous to these wonderful women
Back at church, our wonderful church was a site to live for!!!!! gave us all the wedding jitters
Mike & his boys!!!!!! enough said
Faith, being a lover of flora 🙂 styled the rings on this gorgeous flower as I got to know it being called the ‘Bird of Paradise’
Ladies, fashion & cameras form the perfect blend
This wonderful clutch formed a beautiful backdrop to the wedding programs
Mike & his best man…walk in..style is key here!
The other groomsmen, got in with serious dance, nothing was left to chance
The ladies got in very gracefully
Finally the moment we had all been waiting for, as Cynthia made her entrance, fit for a princess
Hand in hand with her dad & mum
Mike smiles in approval…it was well worth the wait
Is that a tear I see Mike?….Aaaaaawwwww!!!!!
Nope, guess it was just a speck stuck on his eyelid 🙂
Her maid of honour, Grace lights up!!!
The blue on the maids looked absolutely gorgeous
Our own Rev. Njoka was the officiating minister
Cynthia’s Passie, Pastor Sally was in the building too
Mike looking tense, as he faces the father of the bride 🙂
Finally the moment of truth as Mike unveils his bride under the watchful eye of her folks 🙂
Those are smiles of approval I hope!
Aaaaaahhhh, the way Cynthia looks at Mike
The ring!!!! I love the way Mike looks at it…an eternal symbol of their union today
The joy of Cynthia & Mike, was for lack of a better word…infectious!!!
Look at the battery of cameras I had to deal with!!!! SMH…story of my life 🙁
Hahahahaha…they still make me laugh so hard
Some more joy as their signed their marriage certificate
Hahahaha I wonder what Eliud was telling Mike here
Hahahaha I see you Eva!!!! eying me 🙂
Pastor Sally presents the certificate to the newly weds
Hehehehe undressing in church, now are we?
Oh well, it wasn’t what it looked like before 🙂
It was time to tell each other sweet nothings…It was my 1st time to see Mike blush
I am sure Cynthia’s comment had to do with the night of wedding 🙂 judging from Mike’s reaction
And even after the mic was taken away, the sweet nothings never stopped
Too, too cute!!!!!!! absolutely
I really wonder what was happening here!!!!
It was time to go round thanking their family & friends…they looked like Hollywood celebrities appreciating their fans
Amidst the hail of shaking hands, Cynthia spots me 🙂
Hehehehe happy, happy!
Our worship team did a remarkable job
The beautiful ushers outdoors
And the hollering & laughing started…well, for the next series of images….a disclaimer is issued, your ribs will hurt from laughter
Brother calm down!!!!
Aaaaah these two lovebirds!!!
Time for the exits
We drove to some gardens in Garden Estate to do the portrait session…the girls looked fierce
It was one big, big bridal team…well for the bridesmaids i.e.
Some portraits with the bride
The gentlemen were up next
Its called class!!!!
The bridal party couples were uber-creative
Citizen’s TV, Wedding show was in the building and they interviewed Mike & Cynthia
When we got back for the reception, the party was jumping!!!
Everyone was eager to show case their best moves
When the going gets tough, the tough just take a break 🙂
And back to dancing….
Simon & Kate I see you 🙂
Embracing the folks
Hehehehe…it was time to make cocktail…the African way 🙂
A blushing Cynthia serenades Mike 🙂
And everyone cheered when Mike got the long awaited hug
Mike tries his voice at serenading too
After all the singing it was time for having some cake
Eliud the bestman, as a gift he gave out free airtime, he just read out the numbers, may the fastest typer win
Judging from the smiles… no one got it 🙂
For the single ladies in the yard, they got a chance to catch the proverbial bouquet
Hmmmmmm!!!! I wonder who caught it 🙂
Well…gentlemen and ladies….there goes our next bride 🙂
On the left is Mercy (Faith’s sis), Anne & Faith…while on the left is two wonderful couples…Peter & Jessie, Linnet & Majic Mike
Finally some last look portraits of the gorgeous couple
After the wedding; reality finally dawned on Mike, as his notion of how life as a married man, ought to be…changed drastically 🙂
His days of watching soccer while catching up on the day’s paper were endangered
And Mike being the man he was…tried to sweet talk his way out of it
And he told Cynthia of how laughter was the best medicine
But he soon found out that romance was an even better form of medication 🙂
Mike re-assured her…that his days of TV watching were done…
Oh and the charms began to work…he promised Cynthia to help around the house more
And his charms & charisma worked like magic on his new bride
And cooking together was like a little heaven here on earth
And Cynthia realised that Mike was not only a thorough romantic, but also the master chef in the kitchen
And together as husband and wife they rode into Happily Ever After….Cynthia had found her fairy tale romance after all.
We wish you two lovely tweethearts all the best 🙂 May the good Lord shower your path with God’s wonderful blessings…
Baraka Tele (Many Blessings),
Faith & Ben
