I thank God always for the beautiful gift of life, and it is such a privilege for our God given ability to share with you our lives and the beautiful, beautiful weddings we get to document.
There is so, so much to say about this wedding. I absolutely do not know where to start!!! Lydia & Pitwell are such an amazing couple that I do not think these images in this post will do much justice to adequately describe them. They both live and work in Australia, so I met Lydia in person a few days to her wedding while I met Pitwell on the day of their wedding. I was really impressed by how down to earth they were and how they really valued our advice and whatever it is that we suggested about their wedding day.
Also, Lydia was working with some really cool wedding planners, Bloomingdale Planners who helped pulled off this dream white wedding…here is their wedding story as told by me…
Planners :: Bloomingdale Planners
Ceremony :: St. Francis Church, Karen
Reception :: The Marula Manor
Photo-session :: Collingham Gardens
Limo :: WhiteHorse Limousines
Photography Assistant :: Steve ‘Garvey’ Ruriigi
Photography :: Gathoni Mwathi & Ben Kiruthi
We were feeling quite inspired in the morning and we hang Lydia’s very amazing gown by the door-way…which to date stands as the most beautiful gown I have ever come across
Her heels were also lovely we found a lovely prop to go with them
Cute little flower girl
Loved the cuff-links and the way Faith captured them so beautifully
The rings too!
Time for make-up, Muthoni Njoba does her thing!
Many happy moments we had
That smile, worth a thousands of pounds in gold
Smiles of approval
The finished product was amazing!!!!
I can never over-emphasise the importance of a good Make-Up Artist
Lydia got into her gown and she looked breath-taking!!
Time to go and we could not miss the stair-case classic shot
Pitwell’s mum was alive with joy after being given the hand of her soon to be daughter in law
Lovely, African women in song & dance
Yep the Range rover sport Limo!!! #DreamRides!!!!
Lydia is helped to the church entrance by her dad & mum
Pitwell looking really fashionable…as he awaits his bride to walk down the aisle
Loved this shot of the silhouetted bride
The joy was evident to us all
Lovely moment between mother & daughter
And mother and son too 🙂
Certificate signing was really fun
Good times we had
1st kiss as husband & wife as captured by me
The recession was fun and family & friends were there to cheer them all along
The media was there to interview the newly weds!
We had to take some shots with the awesome limo!!!
This should be the advertising billboard for Dreamhorse limos 🙂
Now, now, it was my 1st time shooting at this amazing location, Collingham Gardens…so if you having your wedding in Karen, this is one location worth checking out!!
One big, happy bridal team
DAPER is the term to describe these gentlemen!!!
Check in like a prince & his princess
Lovely moment right there
The African ladies were there in droves to welcome the newly weds
Their wedding, one we would remember a long time
The Nomadic tent provided the perfect location for the reception
Dancing was definitely on the menu
Loved the expression on the mens faces
Lovely times here
The cake!!!! lovely it was…Lydia had cupcakes packed for all her bridal team members, which was really sweet
Only the best wine was to be served
They had some high profile guests, the lovely Ida Odinga
Gideon Moi delivered a wonderful speech as always
Speeches and more speeches
Hon. Raila, gave some really good words of advice to the couple
This was a wonderful Kalenjin tradition where they presented a gift ‘Sotonik’ to Pitwell’s mother
They had a special Wish Tree where their family & friends could post all their love messages & congratulations
Sharing cake & good times with the grand parents
Once the reception was over, Pitwell’s dad presented some traditional gifts to Lydias dad which was really special
Afterwards we took some photos with the maids as the sun set
Later on we headed back to Collingham for the last look portraits, and even though we were really tired, we absolutely rocked it!!
Time to do some high fashion portraits
We found one of those ancient phones and we had serious fun playing with it
One of my favourite shots of the night
The person who furnished and did the interior of Collingham deserves an interior design Oscar!!! it is a collector’s dream
Loved Lydia’s expression on this image, priceless!!!
So homely and cozy
One of the speakers at the reception told Pitwell, that if he must beat his wife, then he should do so with love alone, we took it literally 🙂
We couldn’t leave without doing a shot by the pool
Some Vogue stuff, Faith directed this shot, and I absolutely loved it!!!
And with a kiss they sealed the deal, to one of the most lovely weddings we have been privileged to cover…we had such serious fun…
Thank you Lydia & Pitwell for allowing us to tell this beautiful story of your wedding day, and we hope that if you look back on your wedding day; it will be the day that you were least in love, as compared to the rest of your life together…
Loads of Love,
Faith & Ben!!
