Glory be to God for the gift of life and another chance to share another amazing love story.
We shot Ian & Natalia’s breath-taking wedding exactly 2 years ago in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and it was such a breath of fresh air. Excited to get to finally share this beautiful love story between two very amazing human beings.
I guess you remember Ian & Natalia from their viral engagement shoot that was featured on some Naija blog
As always I asked them how they did meet and this is what they had to say…
Ian & I first talked on the 17th March, 2014, you will not believe how…..INSTAGRAM (chuckles)
Social exploit must be quenched… So just before I went to bed I decided to indulge in my usual (Instagram before bed)……… I stumbled upon this page that had the most beautiful photos (not of him though). He did however have a cute selfie…turns out he had just returned from his Bali holiday & had captured really amazing moments there. Coincidently, I had also just returned from a friends wedding in Bali. Sadly, lets just say he had a better experience. I was intrigued. So I casually commented on his amazing photography skills bla bla bla……
Fast forward, he later on asked for my number, we continued to talk over the phone for a period of time until he mastered the courage to ask me out for dinner. At the time, I wasn’t looking for anything serious but hey our good Lord above had other plans… We just celebrated our two year anniversary…where the emojis when you need them (happy feet dancing).
The year 2014 or was it 2013 (lol – she will kill me), on a hot summer night, couldn’t sleep, I kept twisting & turning (some of you may relate). Thinking to myself, it’s going to be one of those long sleepless nights. Now like a lot of people, I keep my phone on my nightstand. It’s my alarm clock & too many nights a source of distraction. On this particular night, a couple notifications popped up on my Instagram account, 20 likes (it was more like 2 but lets move on) & several comments from the same profile, I was intrigued. I tried snooping through the account but no luck it was private! Just perfect. Next logic thing to do is click the “follow” button. After 1 week of anticipation I got the admission, I was in.
Anyways, I snooped through her page (a lot of selfies) as expected. But there was one particular post that caught my eye, one that got me captivated. Captivated not only by her beauty, but her confidence, her poise & her finesse.
Got the courage to ask for her number and the rest as they say is history…

Little details like this absolutely warm my heart, I love me a bride who takes time with her details
***Wipes a tear*** How sweet & caring is this?
When it comes to stylish shoes, Natalia tops the list!
Back at Ian’s side, things were just starting to get heated up. Ian also know his stuff quite well
Custom made Hip flasks for each of the groomsmen. Ian & Natalia are definitely my ideal bride & groom :). I love such fine details….
Ian our dashing groom of the day
Kevin helps his brother get ready for his big day
Just about ready
Ian does clean up nice, doesn’t he?
The Mlawi brothers. Martyn, Ian & Kevin..that family has some good genes 🙂
I know right? We get that a lot 🙂
The guys pose for a group shot just before leaving for church
Back at Natalia’s we were just winding up the make-up session
The girls here dancing & singing for Nat
Our superbly gorgeous bride of the day, Natalia
A toast is always a welcome idea to calm down the nerves during the morning preps
Nat all dolled up and ready to get married to the man of her dreams
Nat with Mama, see where all her beauty comes from
Time to head out
The church looked amazing all decked out
A quick dab to help Ian scare away the butterflies roaming around his tummy 🙂
The guys wondering why the girls are taking soooo long to get here 🙂
And with these rings they did wed
Officially signed into law
I wonder how they did make it over that cable 🙂 #MarriageProblems
But they did make it across and lived happily ever after 🙂
And they shared their 1st kiss at the steps of the chapel after their recession 🙂 Cheers to the newly weds
A shot with both sets of parents to kick start our mid-day shoot
Natalia is the one who holds Ian down when things get tough, reason enough for the anchors 🙂 #DryJokesAlwaysWin
Sun sets like this give me a warm feeling inside!
Love this perspective shot of the guys
Ian and the guys are too GQ ready!
What’s a wedding without the Matrix move?
The dab was still very cool then 🙂
The girls slaying with Ian
And then Natalia joined in…High fashion everywhere
The colour contrast in this image is the stuff of wedding photographer’s dreams 🙂
And then it was time to head to the reception…they had done a spectacular job…even I had to pick my jaw from the floor every so often 🙂
It was a fairy tale theme fit for a princess and her knight
This is what a dessert table ought to look like..all the rest are just playing 🙂
That high table is just goals written in capital letters!
The bridal party made their entrance in twos, these guys could really dance
And their excited guests cheered them on…careful not to miss a moment for the gram
According culture & tradition, the couple are welcomed to the reception by a drink served by the groom’s parents
How gorgeous are they? Cheiiiii!
And finally the grand moment when they made their entrance in style & dance. Fireworks notwithstanding!
A couple that slays together, stays together 🙂
And they went straight in and lit a unity candle at the sweet heart table
Them laughing at the photographer’s jokes…he is quite a funny fellow!
I so want to redo my wedding!!!! ‘High’ table just got a new meaning!!!!
And everyone got their own champagne bottle to pop!! If you only have one time to get married , then you better do it to your best
And we all got to toast to the newly weds!
Time to see if this cake is as delicious as it looks!
Compared to Ian & Nat, you can see how humongous the cake was! I can still feel its taste 2 years on!
How sweet are these two! #CutenessOverload
And then Ian & the guys performed a dance for Natalia, how amazing!
And then the girls came back changed in these gold sequin dresses and we knew the guys were just about to get whooped 🙂
And they stole the show, they guys got schooled a good one!
The look on the guys’ faces is very rare, those are the faces of men struggling to accept defeat 🙂
And then they made peace and danced together again !
And then their guests joined in for some fun on the dance floor
Good times we shared
Weddings are meant to be like this. Joy & happiness shared with family & friends
Ian appreciates his teary eyed wife
And before we called it a night, Ian & Natalia shared a fairy tale 1st dance
And they had a perfectly choreographed 1st dance, it could not get more perfect!
And with this we ended this beautiful fairy tale. Ian & Natalia together had their dream wedding come true and I could not wish a more perfect day for these two amazing human beings. They deserve it and much much more. Happy 2nd anniversary Ian & Nat, may God guide you always and never stop believing that everything is possible if you just believe.
