30 years ago on this day; I was born!!
My mother came from Western Uganda…she was from the Ankole people…my father was Kenyan, a Kikuyu man who loved life and more so his family. I was their 3rd child…and as most sons, I loved my mother much….I recall her one time kissing me on the cheek (Oh how it embarrassed me :)) and told me that one day I would become great and make a difference in this world. I was barely 10 years old then, but I remember her words so very clearly…now I see what she meant…thank you mum…
My precious mum and dad, went to be with the Lord 15 years ago…I later learnt that they passed away as a result of complications arising from HIV. I was devastated…15 years ago the lives of me & my 2 siblings stopped…I thought to myself that was it, the story of Ben, Brian & Sheila had come to a sudden, early end…but I could never have been further from the truth….
The death of dad & mum, gave us a new family, and I found wonderful parents in my uncle & aunty and wonderful brothers & sisters who were my cousins then…It was only by God’s amazing grace that I was able to go through High School (The awesome Moi Forces Academy), my Engineering degree in JKUAT and finally my Masters.
This is my story, of what God can do with a life that is given to Him…so, if you think our work is any good then you understand now of how God turned my worst test into this sweet testimony…and finally about 4 years ago, I met an amazing and beautiful lady, Faith…whose love, care & belief would give me wings and propel me to a world where everything became possible…thank you my angel for loving & believing in me, when I was nothing, remember when we would hang out, dream wild dreams, and not even eat because we were so broke 🙂
I cannot wait to see what the Lord has planned for us in the next 30 years…but all I know that they will be greater than my former years and I thank Him always for the chance to make a difference with what He has blessed my hands to do…
